The Computer Dudes, Inc was asked by a client for an affordable Drone Solution to Enhance their Site Security.

We came up with a low cost "Tethered Drone" System using inexpensive / disposable drones.   We have enhanced our drone system with a tether which allows the drone to safely
hover in place at a fixed height.   The tether version 1.0  allows the drone to fly in weather where other drones cannot.   It also prevents the drone from being taken by a big gust of wind.

We are releasing Version 1.0 to the Public, Corporations, Schools, Government, Real Estate, Small Offices, Construction Sites and Homes.

Computer Dudes Tethered Drone Observation and Security Enhancement:

1) Select a Large Drone with a good camera - A controller and cell phone controls are the best.   We tested several models all under $100.
2) Purchase a 100 foot roll of Paracord - Cut one piece of Paracord to a 50 foot length.  Then cut four 1 foot lengths out of the extra cord.
3) Purchase or make a Stake to drive into the ground with an eyehook.

Proceedure
A) Tie or Secure 1 foot pieces of paracord onto the Drone Landing Gear.    Then tie the pieces together at the other end for the "harness"
B) Tie 50 foot Paracord to bottom of harness
C) Launch Drone - set it to "Maintain Position"
D) Clip or tie paracord to Stake in Ground
E) Depart Area
F) Operate by Phone from safe distance.   Use Phone to capture and send photos, videos, and panorama's

Daytime Operation is recommended, but the same procedure should work at night if you have night cameras on your drone.
After you have the drone you like - buy a spare one or two and you have a full system good for a decade or so.

Go use it to secure your Homes, Businesses, Schools, Construction Sites, Shopping Areas and even at the Beach.

Version 2.0 has a power harness option.    You will have to contact us to purchase version 2.0 and 3.0 or a custom rig.

Most Drones do not require a harness and many have single button functions like launch and land or take panarama or even follow me modes.
You can use these kind of un-tethered drones to do most of the above too - the tether just helps with wind and remote operation.

Every home, school, business and the rest should also have an emergency plan - such as where to gather if there is a fire and multiple exits from the buildings
and properties so the fire department and EMS can get onsite.

The Byars Family Motto is: "Always Prepared" which you can see on our Coat of Arms. -  We share that with you too.

The Drones we use have Red and Green lights on each Motor and Motor Arm.

The drone can be launched and lit up to lead a group of travelers or your local Boy Scout Troop.

Just follow the Person with the Drone Controls or Who is holding the tether if its in "Tethermode."

Safety is a primary concern - keep the drone away and above the human travelers or vehicles.

Two drone operators so they can switch back and forth are also recommended.

The group should be given info on the drone during your pre-outing planning and discussion - including warnings about drone props and "never touch" the aircraft unless you are part of the team running it.

Small Team training seems to be the most efficient. 3 to 4 people and an instructor. Hands On flight training with cheap easy to repair drones appears to be the best way to learn and practice at the same time.

FAA Rules and Registration of Drone if Required.

Training on Camera and Video Interfaces is Second after basic drone flight is mastered.

Then Camera Operations, Video and Editing on computer or mobile device.

Add some fun like Drone Races, obstacle courses and photo or video contests and there is your whole training setup. :)

    Pilot Error - Drone Crash

Results in "Design Mod" for a new "Taildragger" mode. Where the Drone flies low to the ground with its camera/payload facing forward and upward.

As we have discussed before - Failure often gives us more data and designs than success.

The test drone was repaired and notes were made on maximum yaw and yaw time till stall for normal operation.

Notes on new design also logged to project. :)T

I completed training on the Bridge of the U.S.S. Aegis: NX-1787. An Aegis Class Starship this morning by completing training on Helm, Tactical, Engineering and the Captains Chair by completing the first mission. It was great fun.
Now we need to figure out how to get the People of Earth to spend less on War and more on building Starships, Starbases and Colonies on other Planets. Regards - Todd

I just ordered the 2025 FAR/AIM and a Drone Flight School training manual.

The new FAR/AIM is not released until August 1st.

I am going to take the next step in Drones and Drone Training and get my Drone Pilots License.

This will be needed for our #droneballoon and #cargodrone projects.

I do not think of the training as school or work - I think of it as fun! Great stuff! - Todd

Today I learned to Pilot a Starship!

We decided to take a break from programming environments on the Meta Quest 3 - and loaded Start Trek: Bridge Crew by Ubisoft.

The game begins on the Simulated Bridge of the U.S.S. Aegis: NX-1787.
The first lesson is on the Helm and How to Navigate the Ship.

Great fun and after the Meta Quest 3 recharges, I will probably explore the game further.

We are having a record heat wave here in the South Eastern United States so its a good day to play games.

Stay Cool! - Todd

Ten Days of Good News, Day Ten - Electric Bikes and Offroad Vehicles.

The new electric bicycles would certainly be adored by the Wright Brothers (who built bikes into airplanes).
I like the way one can pedal and use the bike like those from my childhood but at the same time it recharges the battery.
Electric Golf Carts and Offroad Vehicles are awesome too.
All of these help get a person outside of the house, or off the couch and provide many days of fun and adventures.

Ten Days of Good News, Day Nine - UPS - Uninterruptible Power Supply

When you live anywhere there is a power grid - especially here in Florida - expect power outages and even for the power to blink on and off for no apparent reason

If you had told me even ten years ago that I could store Terabytes of information on a USB Drive or SSHD that is smaller than my wallet, I would have asked you what you were smoking.
Today they are a reality and even come in metal cases that are many colors and shapes to help identify the data stored on them.

Originally the standard was for the UPS to give the User 10 minutes to shut down. Now UPS units act as surge protectors and give low power use computers up to an hour to work and shut down.

Ten Days of Good News, Day Seven - The Economy

In spite of all the negativity from the press and the politicians the Economy in the US is "Hot Hot Hot!"

I have never seen so much new construction and so many people employed since before COVID.

Inflation seems to be under control and although people still complain about money - every Starbucks and Chick-fil-a has both drive throughs full out onto the street.

I sincerely hope you, my friends, have a good job or career and are getting the pay and benefits you deserve. :)Todd
